Thank you for your interest in joining the Bass Coast volunteer team.
Volunteering is an opportunity to gather alongside an inspiring collective of individuals to create, collaborate and connect. As a volunteer, you are an integral part of the entire festival. We are grateful for each and every one of you.

IMPORTANT -  if you are a RETURNING VOLUNTEER: Do not fill out this application. Check your email for the Returning Volunteer Application, and email us at volunteer@basscoast.ca if you need it re-sent.

Volunteers are required to commit:

  • 24 hours during the event. (3 x 8 hour shifts) scheduled between: Thurs. July 9 - Sun. July 12.

    OR

  • 32 hours pre or post event. (4 x 8 hours shifts.) These would be 4 consecutive shifts scheduled between Mon. June 29 - Wed. July 8 or Mon. July 13 - Fri. July 17 depending on your availability.


VOLUNTEER DEPOSIT:
All new volunteers must purchase a $527.57 Volunteer Deposit (includes tax and service charges) to have their application processed.

The deposit includes a $68 non-refundable administration fee which covers dinner on each shift day, a Bass Coast volunteer t-shirt, and administrative and operational costs.

The remaining $459.57 of the Volunteer Deposit is refundable and will be returned to the original purchasing credit card by August 15, 2026, once all scheduled shifts have been successfully completed. This deposit serves as a security measure to ensure volunteers fulfill their required hours.

Volunteers do NOT need to purchase a General Admission (GA) ticket for the festival or any other add-ons. Volunteers are provided access to camping and an environmental vehicle pass.

BASS COAST VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:

All volunteer shifts take place on the festival grounds in Merritt. There are no remote shifts.

Are you interested in becoming a Super Volunteer?

Super Volunteers work an extra shift / longer hours (40 hours pre/post event or 32 hours during the event) and are interested in gaining professional experience in event production.

Super Volunteers can request a personalized letter of recommendation from Bass Coast's co-founders and receive other unique perks.

If applying for pre/post show teams, please note that this does not guarantee pre/post show placement and you may be selected for showtime shifts. All volunteers must be available during showtime (Thurs July 9 - Sun July 12).

VOLUNTEER DEPOSIT

Volunteers are required to purchase a Volunteer Deposit of $527.57 (total deposit amount, inclusive of tax and service charges).

The $68 administration fee (included within the total deposit amount) is non-refundable. A total of $459.57 will be refunded through Bass Coast payment processor to the purchasing credit card upon completion of all shifts.

Important: Your application will not be processed until your deposit has been paid. The refundable Volunteer Deposit is a commitment/security measure only. It is not compensation, wages, or an exchange for admission, and no ticket is issued with this payment. Volunteers are provided operational site access to perform their roles—typically one day before their first scheduled shift or on Thursday, July 9 (whichever comes first). Volunteers are also provided camping accommodations and an environmental vehicle pass for logistical purposes during their volunteer period. Volunteers are not required to purchase a GA ticket for the festival.

Volunteer deposits are non-transferable. If for any reason you are not selected to volunteer, you will be issued a full refund. 

Please ensure that your volunteer deposit is purchased using the same email address as this volunteer application. Our Volunteer Coordinator will be in contact with instructions on how to check-in at the festival site.
