Bass Coast Festival is hiring an Assistant Volunteer Coordinator
OVERVIEW OF ROLE
The Assistant Volunteer Coordinator supports the Volunteer Coordinator in overseeing and operating the Bass Coast Volunteer Program, helping to ensure that each volunteer has a safer, enjoyable, and successful experience.
This role involves on-site volunteer management. The Assistant Volunteer Coordinator is a key operational presence on-site and will step into a leadership role when the Volunteer Coordinator is off shift.
The successful candidate must be available to be on the festival site from Sat. July 4 - Tues. July 14, 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Support the Volunteer Coordinator with day-to-day administration of the volunteer program
- Communicate directly with volunteers to provide information, answer questions, and support a positive experience
- Manage volunteers on-site during setup, show days, and teardown, including check-in/out, arrivals, and shift changes
- Help run the Volunteer Centre, keeping it organized, functional, and welcoming
- Coordinate volunteer assignments and reassignments as operational needs change
- Support Team Managers with volunteer-related needs and problem-solving
- Track attendance, performance, and shift coverage using spreadsheets and scheduling tools
- Act as Volunteer Coordinator when the Volunteer Coordinator is off shift
- Assist with teardown, Volunteer Centre breakdown, and post-festival reporting and deposit refunds
- Contribute to smooth, safe, and well-coordinated festival operations
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, support, and communicate respectfully with a wide range of people
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Experience managing schedules and working with Google Suite
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic, noisy, and fast-paced environment
- Calm, confident, and solution-oriented under pressure
- Outgoing, positive, and motivational communication style
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment
- Physically active role requiring time on your feet and movement across the site
- Ability to work and camp outdoors in varying weather conditions for the duration of on-site hours
- Experience volunteering at Bass Coast or other festivals is an asset
- Must be legally eligible to work unrestricted in Canada.
HOURS AND COMPENSATION
Contract Duration:
On the festival site: Sat. July 4 - Tues. July 14, 2026.
Preshow meetings as required.
Compensation:
Flat Rate: $2200

All Bass Coast team members work remotely and are required to have their own computer and workspace (whether at home or elsewhere). The successful candidate will be able to work both independently and work remotely with team members. In-person meetings may be required.
